Micah Parsons takes shot at referees over their unfair treatment following him from Dallas to Green Bay

Micah Parsons was held to two quarterback hits and no sacks during the Green Bay Packers’ 28-21 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. And he has attributed it to a phenomenon that has somehow followed him to Wisconsin from Texas.

While inside the locker room, the star edge rusher insinuated that the referees must have been been overstringent with calls involving him that should have been holds:

“I’m immune. I just gotta keep fighting through. I mean, that’s been the definition of my career … the rule book is they gotta be in the chest area and I’m just not getting grabbed in the chest area.”

Micah Parsons on the lack of holding calls on guys blocking him: “I’m immune. I just gotta keep fighting through. I mean, that’s been the definition of my career … the rule book is they gotta be in the chest area and I’m just not getting grabbed in the chest area.”

There is precedent in his grievances – at one point in 2023, while still a Dallas Cowboy, he went 38 straight quarters without drawing a holding penalty from opposing linemen.

One particularly egregious non-call during that stretch came at the Miami Dolphins on Christmas Eve, when tackle Kendall Lamm reached onto his cheek guard while he was harassing Tua Tagovailoa:

Packers coach Matt LaFleur, meanwhile, raged about how the Bears were getting away with supposed holds on Parsons:

“I thought there was one that certainly was questionable, to say the least, but apparently the officials disagreed, so it is what it is and we’ve just got to continue to fight and try to get to the quarterback.”

He continued:

“I don’t think their (officials’) jobs are easy by any stretch — I think it’s a difficult job — but I guess I don’t know what holding is anymore because I thought it was a pretty clear and obvious hold.”

Micah Parsons praises “scrappy motherf***er” Keisean Nixon after CB’s pick on Caleb Williams

The Packers-Bears game was close and hard-fought throughout, featuring multiple touchdown drives. But it was a defensive play that sealed the game, as cornerback Keisean Nixon intercepted Caleb Williams in the end zone with 22 seconds left:

In the aftermath, Micah Parsons had some strong words of praise for his teammate:

“He’s got a little short-man syndrome, he’s a scrappy motherf*****. So scrappy, he’s not to be played with. He’s small in size, but he’s like a pitbull.”

The Packers’ next game is at the Denver Broncos next Sunday. Kickoff is at 3:25 pm CT on CBS.
