On Monday, NFL analyst Jason McIntyre made a bold prediction for Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams.
On “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” he claimed that they would go on to emerge as the Super Bowl champions. He highlighted their offseason signings to revamp the roster. McIntyre also predicted this upcoming season to be McVay’s last before he announces his retirement.
“We all would agree that the Rams were the best team in the league last year, right?” McIntyre said. “Offseason happens, … Rams get an All-Pro quarterback in Trent McDuffie.
“The Rams are all in this year. Now my hot take a few weeks ago, … what if there is a world where Rams say let’s go all in, get the Super Bowl, Stafford retires, and McVay steps down and says, ‘I need a break. I’ve been to three Super Bowls. I’ve won two. Peace out.’ Kliff Kingsbury slides in as the new head coach.

“Folks, you can go and write this in pen, the Rams are winning the Super Bowl next year. … The Rams got better and shored up their secondary. I’m assuming the special teams will not be the nightmare it was last year. But lock it in right now. Rams, Super Bowl, McVay and Stafford say, ‘We’re out.’ Lock it in.”
The Rams hired McVay back in 2017. His first Super Bowl appearance was during the 2018 season. However, they suffered a 13-3 loss at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Rams coach secured his first Lombardi trophy after winning Super Bowl LVI.
Last season, McVay helped the team qualify for the playoffs. However, the Rams were eliminated by the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC championship game, who went on to emerge as Super Bowl LX champions.

Sean McVay provides an update on Matthew Stafford’s contract extension
Quarterback Matthew Stafford restructured his contract to a two-year, $84 million deal last February. After the 2025 season, he announced his intention to return for another season with the team.
Earlier this month, Sean McVay shared an update on the quarterback’s contract extension as he enters the final-year of his current deal.
“We’ve had great dialogue. … We’ll work through all of those things,” McVay said as per Rams reporter Adam Grosbard.
Stafford joined the Rams after being traded by the Lions in 2021. In five seasons, he has recorded 19,407 yards and 141 TDs passing. Last season, the quarterback was honored with the NFL MVP award for his contributions on the field.
