Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys still have a chance to acquire five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby. On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens decided to back out of their trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for the veteran after he reportedly failed a physical.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys, one of the teams interested in Crosby, still have a chance to work out a deal with the Raiders.
Pelissero: Cowboys would still be interested in trading for Maxx Crosby.
However, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini provided a contrasting report, saying the Cowboys would not be re-engaging in discussions for Crosby.

The Ravens were prepared to give up two first-round picks to acquire Crosby this offseason. However, reports indicate that the defensive end failed his physicals with the team, which resulted in the trade being voided.
It’s unclear what exactly led to Maxx Crosby failing his physical and whether it’s related to the knee injury he sustained last season that led to him missing the last two games. He had surgery in January to address the injury and has been rehabilitating ever since.
The five-time Pro Bowler has been with the Raiders since being drafted in 2019. Last March, Crosby agreed to a three-year extension with the team worth $100.5 million.
In 15 games, the defensive end recorded 73 total tackles, 10 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. However, the Raiders finished dead last in the AFC West with a disappointing 3-14 record.
In seven seasons, Crosby has made the playoffs just once with the team. It was during the 2021 season when they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in a wild-card showdown.

Skip Bayless on failed Maxx Crosby trade
Skip Bayless was shocked after the Ravens decided to back out of their trade for Maxx Crosby. He shared a tweet on X discussing the situation and questioning if it affects the Cowboys’ interest in the five-time Pro Bowler.
“WHAT? The Ravens have ‘backed out’ of the Maxx Crosby trade? Concerns about his health? No info yet. No idea how this might affect the Cowboys’ re-interest,” Bayless wrote.
After failing to acquire Crosby, Jerry Jones and his team traded with the Packers to acquire edge rusher Rashan Gary on Monday. They gave up a 2027 fourth-round pick for the Pro Bowler.
