Paige Spiranac Furiously Shuts Down Fake Dating Rumors Involving Charlie Woods – “Should Be Illegal”

Paige Spiranac has hit back strongly after a series of fabricated stories online falsely linked her romantically to Charlie Woods, calling the situation “crazy” and saying content like that should not be allowed to circulate. The former pro golfer addressed the rumors directly in a video posted Wednesday, expressing frustration over how quickly misinformation fueled by AI imagery can spread.

One headline in particular alleged that Tiger Woods was unhappy about his 17-year-old son being in a relationship with Spiranac, using an AI-generated image as supposed proof. She said the story had no basis in reality but still drew hundreds of comments and messages.

“Now this one is just straight crazy town, and should be illegal to write this, because they’re claiming that Tiger Woods is disappointed that his son Charlie Woods, who I might add is not 18 years old, is in a relationship with me, and the confirmation is this AI picture of us together. There were over 300 comments on this, and I got so many messages about it. This should be illegal. You should not be able to write and post things like this. Absolutely insane.”

Paige Spiranac explained that the rumor spread quickly because the altered image made it seem believable to some people. She said she felt compelled to respond after being flooded with questions about it.

She also pointed to several other false claims that have recently surfaced about her. Some stories quoted her saying things she never said while others twisted harmless remarks into something suggestive. Among the more extreme examples were rumors of a secret relationship with Tiger Woods and a report claiming she turned down a $30 million offer from Elon Musk even though she said she has never met him.

Paige Spiranac turned professional briefly in 2015 before building a massive following as a golf personality and content creator. Despite being quieter on social media lately while dealing with anxiety and overthinking she remains one of the most recognizable figures connected to the sport online.


Paige Spiranac launches new business venture

While dealing with online rumors Paige Spiranac has also been pushing ahead with a major business project.

The former professional has teamed up with golf media company Pro Shop to launch a joint venture called Paige Co. The project will focus on new video content, branded products and lifestyle offerings aimed at modern golf fans.

As part of the deal Pro Shop will handle production, distribution, sales, and merchandising while Paige Spiranac will take an ownership stake and help lead the creative direction as on-camera talent and producer.

Pro Shop co-founder Chad Mumm said her connection with audiences made the partnership a natural fit.

“Paige is truly a one-of-a-kind creator who has become one of the most engaging and authentic voices in the sport. As golf continues to gain cultural momentum with younger, digital-first audiences, Paige Co. allows us to create new and exciting content franchises and consumer products that reflect how modern fans engage with golf today.”

The move adds to Paige Spiranac’s growing role beyond social media. In June 2025, she joined the front office of the Grass League, a par-3 competition, where she works on brand strategy, marketing, fan engagement and talent recruitment after previously serving as a correspondent.

Paige Spiranac said the new venture gives her more control over what she creates.

“I’ve spent years developing a direct relationship with my audience and understanding exactly what resonates,” she said. “Paige Co. allows me to step into a true ownership role, not just as talent, but as a creator, producer and entrepreneur.”

Pro Shop, founded in 2023 by former executives from Vox Media, Puck and the PGA TOUR has quickly built a presence in golf media. The company produces the Netflix series Full Swing, was involved in Happy Gilmore 2 and runs digital brand Skratch along with commerce platform Sugarloaf Social Club. It has also expanded through acquisitions including GolfWRX, and a licensing agreement with the LPGA.
