A pair of Chinese amateurs – two of the world’s best – finished inside the top 15 at the Buick LPGA Shanghai.
Statuesque Ying Xu tied for seventh at 16 under par, eight shots back of the playoff that was eventually won by world No. 1 JeenoThitikul.
Fellow amateur Shiyuan Zhou, meanwhile, tied for 11th.

It’s been quite the stretch for Xu, who recently medaled at the World Amateur Team Championship, topping the field in Singapore by four strokes. She’s also now a two-time winner on the CLPGA.
Earlier this summer, she finished three strokes behind Asterisk Talley at the Junior PGA, taking a share of third. Xu, currently No. 20 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, turns 22 on Oct. 13.

Her compatriot, Zhou, tied for 11th in Shanghai. Last year, she placed 78th in the LPGA field.
Zhou, currently 28th in WAGR, is a three-time winner on the CLPGA and is 15 years old. She hasn’t finished worse than seventh in her last five CLPGA starts this season.
