Raiders HC Klint Kubiak makes stance clear on Maxx Crosby amid $106,500,000 DE’s uncertain future in Las Vegas

Klint Kubiak shares thoughts on Maxx Crosby

Maxx Crosby has seen his relationship with the Las Vegas Raiders worsen over the past few weeks. However, Klint Kubiak still believes in his potential and significance to the franchise.

During his introductory press conference, the new head coach said about the star edge rusher:

“I got to a cup of coffee with Maxx this morning. Love talking with him. And look forward to continuing those conversations. He was the first one in here working out. So that fired me up.”

He continued:

“We want him to be a part of our success going forward. There’s no doubt about that. He’s one of the best players in the NFL, so that’s a no-brainer to get to work with Maxx and see him continue to have success with his organization.”

In the 2025 season, Crosby repaid the Raiders’ decision to sign him to a three-year, $106.5-million extension with ten sacks and a career-high 28 tackles for loss. However, the team sidelined him for the final two games because of a knee injury despite his desire to play through it.

After being informed of the decision, he reportedly left Las Vegas, telling the media:

“Yeah, I don’t give a s–t about the (no. 1) pick. I don’t play for that. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world. That’s what I focus on every day.”

Tensions between player and organization reached a new boiling point on Monday, when an anonymous general manager told SportsBoom’s Jason La Canfora that he had overheard Crosby warning minority owner Tom Brady that he would never play for the Raiders again.

Patriots have “as good a shot as any” at landing Maxx Crosby in 2026 offseason – analyst

Should Maxx Crosby indeed demand a trade out of Nevada, there are a multitude of teams that will want his services.

The Cincinnati Bengals face the prospect of losing Trey Hendrickson in free agency after five years and have seen a lack of productivity from first-round picks Myles Murphy and Shemar Stewart. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are still reeling from trading away Micah Parsons.

NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran, however, suggested the New England Patriots as the likeliest destination to provide an upgrade from Harold Landry and K’Lavon Chaisson, who combined for 16 sacks in 2025. He said Tuesday on WEEI’s “Jones & Keefe”:

“It seemed like Eliot Wolf intimated in a conversation that the Patriots were active at the deadline and just didn’t want to give up multiple first-round picks. Seemingly, that was inferring that they were chasing Myles Garrett. If they’re willing to do that for Myles Garrett, would they be willing to do that for Maxx Crosby? To me, it seems as if they would.”
