According to Baltimore Sun columnist Mike Preston, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are at a crossroads. The quarterback is set to earn a staggering $74.5 million, making him the highest-paid player in the league, but Preston claims the Ravens might not be open to that.
In a column published on Wednesday, Preston suggested the Ravens should trade Jackson to the Miami Dolphins or Las Vegas Raiders. The Dolphins demoted Tua Tagovailoa to emergency third-string option after Week 15, raising a lot of uncertainty about his future at the franchise.
“It’s clear that coach John Harbaugh has become tired of Jackson, even though he builds him up after every game,” Preston wrote. “He has to, or Jackson will go into his own self-exile.
“The Ravens should look at possible trades, which could net them two or three first-round picks. Jackson would love to play in Miami, where quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is no longer the starter, or possibly Las Vegas, where Brady, a partial owner of the Raiders, has shown a fondness for him. Baltimore should also draft a young quarterback in the early rounds.”

Lamar Jackson was sidelined in several games this season, raising concerns about his long-term health. The quarterback missed three games early this season, playing a role in the Ravens’ 1-5 start to the season. He’s also currently dealing with a back contusion as the team is on the brink of missing the playoffs.
John Harbaugh gets candid on his relationship with Lamar Jackson
Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh responded to the allegation of a deteriorating relationship between him and Lamar Jackson in Mike Preston’s report. The coach rejected the claims, adding that he doesn’t put much stock in anonymous sources.
“To speculate on how I feel about it, I’ll tell you how I feel,” Harbaugh said. “I’m pretty transparent. All the guys in the building will tell you, if I have something, a conversation, something that I want to talk to him about, I’m right up front. So that would be wrong to say that’s not true.
“I had a great conversation with Lamar this morning about a few things, and football, and how he’s feeling, and things like that. So our relationship is A-plus. So I love him, always have, always will. And I know he’s fighting like crazy to get back.”
John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson have been together since the Ravens drafted the Heisman Trophy winner with the last pick of the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft. Over eight seasons, the quarterback has guided Baltimore to a 76-30 record and has earned NFL MVP honors twice.
