Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills crashed out of the playoffs with a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round on Saturday. However, there was a controversial moment in overtime when Bills quarterback Allen seemingly connected with wideout Brandin Cooks, and Broncos cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian emerged with the ball when the receiver rolled over after hitting the ground. The referees called the play an interception, which handed the ball over to the Broncos, who went on to seal the win.
On Sunday, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky slammed the referees on X for the controversial call around Allen’s interception. Even former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman agreed with Orlovsky.
“I have never seen a contested catch like this ever be called anything but a catch. Even as a DB you know that if it’s even a Tie it will go to the WR. Can’t believe this decided the game,” Sherman tweeted.

Josh Allen gives emotional post-game interview after Bills crash out of playoffs

Josh Allen had tears in his eyes during his news conference after the Bills were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday. The QB also took the blame for his team’s loss to the Broncos.
“Just missed opportunities throughout the game,” Allen said of the reason for his emotions. “It’s been a long season. I hate how it ended, and that’s going to stick with me for a long time.”
Allen won the MVP award last season. He has led the Bills to five AFC East titles, but the QB has yet to take his team to a Super Bowl.
Allen and the Bills will need to head back to the drawing board and try to come back stronger next season.
