Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks pulled off the 18-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday’s Week 15 afternoon game. The win wasn’t the only excitement that happened that day.
Sam Darnold’s fiancé, Katie Hoofnagle, shared a series of photos on her Instagram Story of her facing a fear of birds. She first posted a photo of herself meeting a real-life seahawk, being assured that it won’t be bit.
“I promise he never bites,” she was told.

“the fear is palpable, go Hawks tho!” Katie captioned the photo.

During Sunday’s win, Sam Darnold completed 22 36 passes for 271 yards and rushed for five yards. The Seattle Seahawks had a come-from-behind win over the Indianapolis Colts who were being led by quarterback Phillip Rivers, who made his return to the NFL.
Sam Darnold’s fiancé, Katie, recapped life and gamedays
Quarterback Sam Darnold has been living up to expectations in his first season with the Seattle Seahawks. His fiance, Katie Hoofnagle, has been enjoying their life in the Pacific Northwest as well.
In November, she shared a life recap on Instagram. Katie Hoofnagle shared a look at a Seahawks’ gameday and custom puffer vest and jackets she wore to cheer on the quarterback. She also showed a look at fall in the region and time spent with friends and loved ones.
“recap: football, friends, family, fall, and flights,” Hoofnagle wrote.
In March, Darnold signed with the Seahawks on a three-year deal worth $100.5 million. He spent the 2024 NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings and was initially the backup quarterback before J.J. McCartney suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. Darnold led the Vikings to the postseason with a 14-3 record.
In July, the quarterback proposed to Katie Hoofnagle in a beach proposal in Dana Point, California. The couple has been together since 2023 and she has hinted their wedding will take place during the NFL offseason.
