Scottie Scheffler has matched Tiger Woods’ record by winning the PGA Tour Player of the Year award for the fourth straight season. Only Woods and Scheffler have ever claimed the Jack Nicklaus Award at least four times in a row. The award is decided by a vote among PGA Tour players, and Scheffler beat out fellow nominees Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and Ben Griffin.

Scheffler dominated the 2025 season with six wins, twice as many as any other player. His victories included two major championships, the PGA Championship and the British Open, bringing him close to completing a career Grand Slam. He made the top 25 in all 20 events he played, including 17 top-10 finishes.

CEO Brian Rolapp praised Scottie Scheffler, saying:

“Scottie’s consistent level of success has been nothing short of spectacular as he continues to chase history on the PGA TOUR, and we’re excited to see what he will deliver in 2026.” (via CBS Sports)

Scottie Scheffler overcame a slow start to 2025 after slicing his right hand on a wine glass while cutting ravioli, which sidelined him for nearly two months. He regained form just before the Masters, finishing runner-up in Houston, and went on a run where he never finished worse than a tie for eighth for the rest of the season. His final six PGA Tour events included no rounds over par and a streak of 21 consecutive rounds in the 60s.

The American led 17 statistical categories this season, from tee-to-green accuracy to converting over 36 per cent of bogeys into birdies or better, earning more than $27 million in official prize money. Since his first PGA Tour win in 2022, Scheffler has claimed 19 titles in 80 events. He also won an Olympic gold medal in Paris last year and has finished in the top three in over 46 per cent of his PGA Tour starts. Scottie Scheffler became the first player since Woods in 2000 to lead the Tour in scoring average across all four rounds.

Nike celebrates Scottie Scheffler’s fourth Player of the Year award

Nike marked Scottie Scheffler’s fourth PGA Tour Player of the Year award with a festive social media video. The clip featured a room decorated for Christmas, and by the end, a statue of Scheffler was added to a display alongside other golf icons who have won the award. The video closed with the message:

“The More The Merrier”

Nike captioned the post:

“‘Tis his [email protected] makes more room on the mantle.

Scheffler has been a longtime Nike athlete, wearing their apparel and footwear throughout his career. The brand is known for celebrating its athletes with creative and playful gestures, and this video was a nod to Scheffler’s remarkable achievement.
