Sean McDermott seemingly takes aim at OC Joe Brady over Bills’ offensive struggles in blowout loss vs. Dolphins

Sean McDermott seemingly takes aim at OC Joe Brady over Bills

Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills suffered a disappointing 30-13 loss at the hands of a struggling Miami Dolphins team on Sunday. The offense, led by OC Joe Brady and quarterback Josh Allen, struggled to find any passing momentum against Mike McDaniel’s defense, which is ranked 24th in terms of total defense.

In the post-game press conference, Sean McDermott highlighted his team’s struggles in creating passing plays on the field. It looked like he took a shot at Joe Brady for the Bills’ inability to make passes that contribute to their success on the field.

“It is because it’s an imporant part of our offense,” McDermott said. “We’ve got a great quarterback, and you want to be able to move the ball two dimensional. You know, we should be able to move the ball with Josh through the air.

“But it can’t just be one phase of your offense. It’s got to be two working, you know, in consort with one another. So, you guys know I say this quite a bit, starts up front with being with the line of scrimmage, controlling the line of scrimmage early. And that sets up other things. That’s what I look at first is, are we controlling the line of scrimmage? And then how does it set up our passing game. So they go hand in hand.”

Sean McDermott’s team finds itself out of the top ten at No.14 when it comes to the league’s best passing offense this season. This raises concerns for a team that is expected to compete for a chance to play in the Super Bowl.

Against the Dolphins, Josh Allen completed 28 of 40 passes for 306 yards and two passing touchdowns. This season, he has recorded 2,139 yards and 15 TDs passing while rushing for seven touchdowns. The Bills are 6-3 following Sunday’s loss.

Sean McDermott highlights areas of improvement for the Bills after 30-13 loss to the Dolphins

In the post-game press conference, Sean McDermott said that the team needs to improve at controlling the flow of the game on the field. It was because of their inability to do so on Sunday that resulted in the Dolphins taking home the win.

“It’s come out and control the game early and play a certain way with a certain style, and we didn’t do that today,” McDermott said as per the team’s website.

“That’s why we got the result we got, especially in the first half, and then we were chasing the game. They were in control of the game for the first half, and then in the second half, we were chasing the game, which is a hard way to play. I thought we made some plays in the second half, but not enough.”

The Bills are next scheduled to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
