Tiger Woods’ former coach Hank Haney reacted to a political claim on social media, stating that taxpayers were being “robbed” amid allegations linked to licensed daycare centers around Boston.

On January 1, Haney reshared a post on X that claimed that nearly 4,000 daycares were registered within a 20-mile radius of Boston, Massachusetts. The post alleged that several condos, apartments, and residential homes were listed as licensed daycare facilities despite showing no visible signs of childcare operations. It also claimed misuse of taxpayer money and compared the situation to a similar issue previously reported in Minnesota.

Sharing his reaction, Haney wrote:

“Sickening the way we the taxpayers are getting robbed.”

Although Haney is widely known for his work in golf, he has often shared his political views on social media, with golf instruction, swing analysis, and tournament commentary.

Haney coached Tiger Woods from 2004 to 2010, one of the most successful periods of Woods’ career. During that time, Woods won six major championships and 31 PGA Tour titles.

Apart from Tiger Woods, Haney has also worked with other top players, including Mark O’Meara, who won the Masters and Open Championship in 1998. He runs the Hank Haney Golf Studio in Deerfield, where he focuses on coaching amateur golfers rather than professionals.

When Tiger Woods’ ex-coach previously shared his political views online

Hank Haney has often posted political opinions on social media in the past. On November 6, 2024, he posted on X questioning the vote-counting process in key U.S. swing states during the presidential election. He wrote:

“Isn’t it kind of weird how all these swing states needed like 2 full weeks to count votes but once it was clear Donald Trump was winning in a landslide all of the sudden they didn’t need the extra time anymore?”

In a separate exchange from September 2024, Haney responded to a user who suggested that he should “stick to golf.” The user wrote:

“As a lover of golf, I follow LIV, the PGA Tour, AND politics! You’d have to be a one-cell critter to think Hank should stick to golf.”

In response, Haney expressed concern about the state of the country, writing:

“Look at what is happening to this country.”

These posts further show that Haney has regularly used his platform to comment on political topics alongside his golf-related content.
