The Tiger Woods PGA Tour record that Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler can eclipse in 2026

Tiger Woods remains the top name in the sport of golf but when it comes to 2026, he could see yet another record he holds give way.

Woods is renowned in the sport for holding a number

Woods’ total of 683 weeks as world number one is going to take some usurping, while his consecutive streak at the summit of 281 weeks will also take some topping.

Now, with Woods out of action again due to more back surgery, he has opened the door for the other two star names of the game, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, to take a record off him.

Tiger Woods could lose his prize money earned record in 2026

Over the years, it’s looked almost impossible for someone to overtake Tiger Woods at the top of the prize money standings.

As of right now, Woods has won a whopping $120,999,166 in prize money and sits some $13m ahead of the next best ranked player, Rory McIlroy.

However, with 2026 set to see big purses once again and McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler the two in-form names in golf, there is a big chance we see Woods’ record tumble.

Looking at 2025, Scheffler has won more than $27m while McIlroy pocketed more than $16m for his own performance.

In simple terms, should either of those two have the same sort of season in 2026 on the PGA Tour, then they will jump ahead of Woods.

Given Woods’ current state, there is little hope of him adding to his $120m+ haul, leaving the door wide open for Scheffler and McIlroy.

The other PGA Tour players who could catch Tiger Woods’ career earnings

There is quite a gap from the figures McIlroy and Scheffler have earned to those down the list.

However, there are a few active players in there who could also overtake Woods if they can find form and keep playing for a while.

Justin Rose and Justin Thomas are already above the $70m mark, while Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele are comfortably in the mid-60s.

Throw in the likes of Adam Scott, Jason Day, and Hideki Matsuyama as players who have earned over $60m, and there are players in there who could jump up the board with some big wins.

Player Money earned on the PGA Tour
Tiger Woods $120,999,166
Rory McIlroy $107,981,766
Scottie Scheffler $99,453,136
Justin Rose $73,736,017
Jim Furyk $71,507,269
Vijay Singh $71,281,216
Justin Thomas $70,601,520
Adam Scott $69,759,328
Jordan Spieth $65,901,630
Jason Day $64,808,524

Of course, doing it is another matter entirely and Woods is safe with at least 3rd place for the foreseeable.

But with the money in the game now and with no sign of it slowing down, we could see Tiger slip further and further as the years go by.
