Diego Pavia has been a topic of discussion heading into this year’s NFL draft. The Vanderbilt signal-caller threw at the NFL combine on Saturday and walked off the field in Indianapolis, appearing to be proud of his efforts at the event. Pavia also recorded an inspiring message about resilience and belief and shared the video clip on social media.
On Monday, analyst Rob Parker recalled Pavia’s behavior after finishing as a Heisman finalist and pointed out some of the issues with the QB attempting to flaunt his confidence.
“Here’s the problem, I’m gonna say this,” Parker said on the “The Odd Couple” radio show. “I would not be interested in him. Because to me, there’s a character flaw. And it’s nothing more with being confident. I’m dead serious.
“I get it, he’s a small guy. … He did play well (last season), second place for the Heisman, and I’ll give you all that respect. But there’s a degree of how you handle yourself as a professional. And it would bother me.”

After finishing second in the Heisman Trophy voting, Pavia went on a social media tirade, posting “F-All THE VOTERS” on Instagram with a thumbs-down emoji. The Commodores QB was also seen partying in New York after the ceremony outside a club with a sign that read “F*** Indiana” in response to Fernando Mendoza winning the Heisman.
Pavia later apologized for his actions.

Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia projected as a Day 3 pick at 2026 NFL draft

Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia is projected as a Day 3 pick in this year’s NFL draft. Many analysts believe that his physical attributes might not spark interest from teams in the early rounds.
Pavia also opted to skip the 40-yard dash at the combine, something that has reportedly plummeted his draft stock even further.
