The Baltimore Ravens sent shockwaves across the NFL with their latest decision on the Maxx Crosby trade. They had previously finalized a deal, giving up two first-round picks to acquire the five-time Pro Bowler.
However, on Tuesday, reports surfaced that the Ravens are backing out of the Crosby trade. While details are slim, it is believed that the defensive end failed the physcials, which is why the team lost interest in acquiring him.
After the situation came to light, NFL insider Tom Pelissero highlighted how an anonymous GM came forward to criticize the Ravens and GM Eric DeCosta for backing out of the deal.
“One GM summarizeded the feelings around the league: ‘This is very much bulls**t on Baltimore’s part,” Pelissero tweeted.

Pelissero spoke in more detail about the sentiment around the league on ‘The NFL Network.’
“The reaction from the other people within the NFL that I am getting in predominantly about how the Ravens pulled the rug out regardless of what their reasoning was,” Pelissero said. “This just does not happen. … When you’re talking about trading two first-round picks, this is not an unknown issue about Maxx Crosby. Everyone knew he had a knee injury. Everyone knew he finished on injured reserve.
“This is not a situation where you put in a bid on an online acution, and if you don’t like the item, you return it via Amazon. This is a trade involving a superstar player in the NFL. Clearly, they came to a conclusion that there was something they were not comfortable with.”
Crosby ended the 2025 season with a torn meniscus injury. This resulted in him missing out on the last two games. The defensive end underwent surgery in January to address the injury and has been rehabilitating ever since.
Louis Riddick shares his thoughts on the Maxx Crosby situation
After the failed Ravens trade, there is an air of uncertainty about whether other teams will try to pursue and sign Maxx Crosby this offseason.
On Tuesday, ex-NFL safety turned analyst Louis Riddick shared his two cents on this situation.
“There will be a lot of discussions between teams doctors/medical staff and roster decision makers, on quite a few teams tonight, regarding Maxx Crosby and if this should compelteams to enter/ re-enter trade talks with Vegas,” Riddick tweeted.
