Is Cody Rhodes Turning into a Real Villain?

Tiger Woods is most likely to play at the Masters 2026. The American golfer has been away from golf since his last outing at The Open Championship 2024. The 15-time major winner had hinted at his return to the majors a few times in the last few months, and the Masters recently updated its website with an announcement about Woods’s potential comeback.

Woods’ bio on the Masters website states that he is “making his 27th Masters start in 2026.”

Tiger Woods had made his debut at the Masters in 1995 as an amateur. That year, he settled in at T41, and the next year, he played professionally but struggled with his game and missed the cut.

He won the major in 1997 and has since had an impressive streak of not missing the cut in the tournament. His last appearance at the Masters was in 2024, where he settled in 60th place. He won the major in 2001, 2002, 2005, and then in 2019.

The Masters 2026 is scheduled to take place from April 9 to 12 at the Augusta National Golf Club. The Masters is the first major of the year. It will feature a stellar field of some of the top-ranked golfers in the world.

Woods, as a past winner, holds a lifetime exemption to play in the event. This year, Rory McIlroy will return to defend his title.

Tiger Woods opens up about playing at the Masters

Tiger Woods provided an update on his playing at the Masters earlier this week. The 15-time major winner attended the TGL game on Tuesday to support his team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, and in the post-round press conference, he talked about his return.

“I said I’ve been working on it,” Woods said. “Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disk replacement is not a lot of fun. So Will Zalatoris went through it, he had two levels done, and it takes time.

“So as I said, I’ve had a lot of procedures prior to that, so the body doesn’t quite heal like it was when I was 24. Doesn’t quite bounce back. So I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it’s hard to just to move around…” he added.

Tiger Woods underwent a disc replacement surgery in October and has since been focused on his recovery. It would be interesting to see when he will make his return on the greens.

His TGL team, Jupiter Links GC, has secured its spot in the final of the TGL, but Woods is not likely to play in the event. He was asked about his chances of playing in the TGL, and he said he didn’t want to “screw up the lineups.”
