Tiger Woods and his former wife, Elin Nordegren, were seen together in Miami as they watched their son, Charlie Woods, compete in a junior golf event. The moment came during the weekend as Charlie took part in a major international tournament, drawing attention to the rare public appearance of the former couple.
The ex-spouses were at the 62nd edition of the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship held at the historic Biltmore Golf Course. The event featured top junior players from around the world, including the 16-year-old Charlie.
Tiger Woods wore khaki pants with a white polo shirt while Elin Nordegren opted for a white quarter-zip top, black leggings, and sneakers. The two were seen watching closely as their son played.
In a post shared by Tiger Woods’ fan page TWLEGION, on January 6, Woods was seen taking a grip at Charlie’s tournament in Miami over the weekend while Elin watched from nearby.
Tiger and Elin have continued to support Charlie at junior tournaments over the years. Most recently, they were seen together in November when Charlie helped The Benjamin School win the Florida Class 1A state championship.
The former couple divorced in 2010 after six years of marriage. They share two children, daughter Sam and son Charlie. Tiger is currently in a relationship with Vanessa Trump.
Tiger Woods responds calmly after Charlie Woods’ on-course scare
Charlie Woods had a tense moment during his round when a recovery shot on the 11th hole took a sharp bounce off a hidden root and came back toward him. The ball narrowly missed his face, forcing the 16-year-old to duck and protect himself as the gallery reacted with audible gasps.
Charlie was not hit and handled the moment well. He quickly regrouped and continued his round without letting the incident affect his play. According to GolfMagic, Tiger Woods reacted by joking with his son, calling out “H— of a shot,” before the two shared a laugh on the green.
Charlie followed up his opening-round 72 with a 73, leaving him at three over par through two rounds. He is tied for 22nd at the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship, an event his father famously won in 1991.
Currently ranked No. 13 in the American Junior Golf Association standings, Charlie is coming off the strongest season of his junior career. The tournament runs through Tuesday, when the final round will decide the winner.
