Tiger Woods’ TGL is set to launch a women’s league. The league is officially scheduled to debut later this year after the 2026 season.
On Tuesday, January 6, TGL officially announced the launch of WTGL. Officials from both the league and the LPGA shared details about the upcoming league. All matches will take place at the SoFi Center, and discussions for team owners and investors are still in process.
In an official statement, LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler said that the partnership with TMRW Sports reflected their belief that innovation could help create more visibility for LPGA stars.
“I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences while showcasing both athlete personality and performance, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game,” he said as per PGA Tour. “It creates another global stage for our athletes—one that helps fans connect more deeply with them and continues to elevate the visibility and growth of women’s golf.”
TMRW Sports founder and CEO Mike McCarley said that WTGL is the next step in creating a modern, focused version of a centuries-old game.
“Since the launch of TGL a year ago, TMRW Sports has been putting the pieces in place to create a women’s league featuring the best players in the world. Now, along with the LPGA and its athletes, we look forward to creating a stage to help showcase the stars of the LPGA. WTGL’s short-form, team golf format will engage new audiences and complement the LPGA Tour’s global appeal,” he added.
The LPGA Season will begin later this month with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, while it will conclude with the CME Group Tour Championship in November.
Akshay Bhatia joins Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links for TGL 2026
Akshay Bhatia has officially joined as the Jupiter Links alternate for the TGL 2026 season. The young golfer will play for the team in the absence of their stalwart, Tiger Woods.
On Tuesday, the official account of Jupiter Links shared a video in which Tiger Woods welcomes Bhatia, who says, “The lefty has arrived.”
The Jupiter Links now have Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner, alongside Bhatia as an alternate. The Jupiter Links will play their first match on Tuesday, January 13, against the New York Golf Club. Last year, Woods’ team finished fourth with just one win the entire season. With Bhatia on the side, fans will be hoping the team’s fortune changes this time.
