“Tom Brady is still the GOAT”: Bill Simmons drags Patrick Mahomes through the mud after Chiefs’ 5-4 start

Bill Simmons drags Patrick Mahomes through the mud after Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 on Sunday. With the defeat against Buffalo, the Chiefs fell to a 5-4 record.

On Monday, analyst Bill Simmons discussed the Chiefs’ rather poor start to the season, while proclaiming Tom Brady as the best QB in the history of the NFL.

“The Patriots with Tom Brady as the starter only started 5-4 twice,” Simmons said on his podcast. “In 2001 and 2002. In 2001, he didn’t even start the first three games. In 2002, they finished 9-7. … So, everybody can take a big heaping sip of settle-down juice in the GOAT discussion.

“Tom Brady is, we’re still good. Win a few more Super Bowls and maybe don’t start the season 5-4 and we can throw you in the GOAT convo.”

Mahomes, on the other hand, has already played in five Super Bowls and won three of them. He is in his ninth season with the Chiefs.
