The line-ups for the 2025 Laver Cup is all but complete as alternates have been announced for the multinational event, which runs from September 19-21 in San Francisco. The best ATP players from Europe will battle top stars from the rest of the world for international glory. Team Europe prevailed in last year’s edition, scoring a 13-11 victory over their Team World counterparts.
This year’s edition will see Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz lead Team Europe, who have a star-studded squad ready to take on the rest of the world. German superstar Alexander Zverev, Danish ace Holger Rune, Norwegian Casper Ruud, rising Italian star Flavio Cobolli and Czech Jakub Mensik make up the rest of Team Europe. Team World will be spearheaded by merican Taylor Fritz, Australian Alex de Minaur, Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, Brazilian wonderkid Joao Fonseca and the American duo of Alex Michelsen and Reilly Opelka.
Two alternates will be making their debut at the event
With a few players already withdrawing from the Laver Cup due to injuries and fatigue, both teams will want to have alternates on hand as a contingency plan. Each team is granted one alternate player, who will take part in all team activities and appearances. Additionally, they will take the place of a player in the six-man squad if he is unable to compete across the three-day competition.
