Vijay Singh is set to return to the PGA Tour after committing to the Sony Open in Hawaii marking his first start on the regular tour since 2021. The World Golf Hall of Famer will use a career money list exemption to tee it up during the 2026 season.
Vijay Singh, who turns 63 in February has not competed in a regular PGA Tour event since 2021. Despite his limited schedule in recent years Singh remains sixth on the PGA Tour’s all-time career money list with earnings of more than $71 million.
According to the Associated Press, Singh requested the use of his career money list exemption for 2026. That decision allows him to enter select PGA Tour events starting with the Sony Open.
The three-time major winner last appeared on the PGA Tour at the 2021 Honda Classic. Since then he has focused mainly on Champions Tour appearances making his upcoming start a notable return to the regular tour.
The Sony Open in Hawaii will be played from January 12 to 18, 2026 at Waialae Country Club. The event is scheduled one week before the PGA Tour Champions season begins on the Big Island.
It remains unclear how often Singh plans to compete on the PGA Tour in 2026, but his decision to enter the Sony Open marks his first confirmed start on the tour in several years.
