The Miami Dolphins had a very bad first half on offense in Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, failing to reach the end zone and being held to a field goal whenever they had the chance to score en route to a 14-6 deficit. And one moment exemplified its stench perfectly.
As the final minute approached in the second quarter, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa overthrew a pass to De’von Achane on a fourth down inside the red zone. It was their third turnover – after a fumble and a missed field goal in the first.
Afterward, cameras cut to head coach Mike McDaniel looking up to the sky in distress:
The Ravens, however, would be unable to do anything on the subsequent drive, being forced to punt – the fourth time they did so. Neither did the Dolphins afterward.
Tagovailoa finished the half with 15/22 passes completed for 152 yards. For the Ravens, Lamar Jackson completed just 8 passes for 89 yards but scored two touchdowns – both to tight end Mark Andrews.
