Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase was visibly upset after his team lost to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Bengals and Bears starred in a shootout in Week 9 of the 2025 season, which ended with Caleb Williams winning the duel against Joe Flacco at Paycor Stadium.
Chicago won the game on a 58-yard touchdown pass to Colston Loveland. The 2-point conversion was unsuccessful, but it didn’t matter, as the Bears exited the field with a 47-42 win.
After the game was over, Chase angrily walked back to the locker room. He yelled a simple desire that summed up how his team couldn’t secure the win
“One f***ing win,” Chase said.

The Bengals were close to completing a 14-point comeback. They trailed the Bears 42-27 with 4:53 in the fourth quarter before Joe Flacco connected with Noah Fant and Andrei Iosivas to give the team a 42-41 lead.
Everything collapsed in the final minute of regulation, as the Bengals couldn’t stop Caleb Williams and let the game slip through their fingers. Ja’Marr Chase had a busy day, catching six passes on eight targets, racking up 111 yards. Tee Higgins led the way with seven receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to beat the NFC North team.
Cincinnati dropped the 3-6 ahead of their bye week. They will return to action in Week 10 for a divisional duel against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ja’Marr Chase shared his frustrations with Bengals’ defense after New York Jets game
Sunday’s outburst wasn’t the first time Ja’Marr Chase shared his frustrations with the current state of the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense. Cincy became the first team the Jets beat this season in a 39-38 high-flying game. After the game was over, Chase was asked how he felt about the defense’s performance.
“It’s pretty frustrating,” Chase told reporters.
He refused to answer why the team continued to let opposing teams run over their defense, saying that head coach Zac Taylor needed to respond to that instead. The Bengals entered this game ranking last in the NFL in points allowed (31.6), total yards (407.9) and rushing yards (151.9).
As sharp as their offense is, the Bengals have a lot of work to do on the other end of the ball to secure these hard-fought games.
