“We’re like a leaking faucet”: Tom Brady doesn’t mince words on humiliating 43-16 loss to USA flag football team

Tom Brady did not get the result he was hoping for during Saturday’s Fanatic Flag Football Classic. The retired seven-time quarterback served as the captain of the Founders, which included players like four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs.

However, they ended up losing both of their games at the Fanatic Flag Football Classic. The first loss came at the hands of the USA flag football team. Brady and the Founders also lost their showdown against the Wildcats, which was under the co-captaincy of Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels.

According to a tweet by Christian Gonzales, Brady spoke to comedian and actor Druski after losing 43-16 to Team USA in the first game.

“My heart is hurting right now,” Brady said. “My heart is really hurting. We’re like a leaking faucet. We don’t have enough short throws.”

The Founders put up a decent fight in their second game against the Wildcats. However, it ended in the same fashion for them (34-26 loss). Brady and his team put up a 0-2 record despite him going six for eight with 61 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Team USA faced the Wildcats in the championship. Thanks to their experience and knowledge in this format, they were crowned champions after a 24-14 victory. In the postgame press conference, Tom Brady gave them credit for the victory while discussing their own shortcomings.

“We were probably trying to play for NFL football and pass concepts,” Brady said. “Things happen pretty quick out there as those guys are super shifty. They did a good job running the ball when we have one run play.

“Just in terms of strategy, we’re like, way behind. But I thought it was a fun experience and experiment as well for us to see where everyone measured up. Really happy for the USA flag team. They did a great job. They got a lot of talented, humble kids.”

Ex-NFL tackle shares his thoughts on Tom Brady’s flag football performance

Despite not securing a single win on Saturday, Tom Brady showcased glimpses of his brilliance with the ball. His stats were better than those of the other quarterbacks (Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels) who participated in the event.

On social media, retired NFL tackle Breiden Fehoko had high praise for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

“You can’t name me 10 active quarterbacks in the NFL better than 45 year old Tom Brady right now,” Fehoko said.

Brady spent 23 seasons playing in the league. In 335 games, he recorded 89, 214 yards and 649 TDs passing.
