Tiger Woods was quite simply untouchable at the US Open in 2000 at Pebble Beach.
And now Trey Wingo has shared what Brandel Chamblee told him about something that Woods did at Pebble Beach back in 2000.
The 49-year-old ran away with the 2000 US Open, winning the tournament by a whopping 15 shots after finishing up at 12-under par for the tournament.
Woods ended up with 15 majors but he could have won many more, if he had managed to remain injury-free throughout his career.
His dominance during his prime was unmatched by anyone else in the history of the sport.
Tiger has won 82 PGA Tour titles and many look at him as the best to have ever played the game.

Gary Player said Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all time, although he did suggest that Jack Nicklaus enjoyed the better career purely because of his superior record in the majors.
While Nicklaus was a commanding figure in the game, it’s fair to say that he didn’t dominate his rivals like Woods did.
One thing’s for sure, nobody has been in control of an event from start to finish quite like Woods was at Pebble Beach 25 years ago.
Tiger Woods blew Brandel Chamblee away just before the 2000 US Open
Chamblee has previously credited Woods with making the professional game, and specifically the PGA Tour, the behemoth it is today.
The 49-year-old has enjoyed many outstanding seasons on the PGA Tour throughout the years, but none of them compare to his heroics back in 2000.
During that season, his standout performance was at the US Open.
Chamblee also played at Pebble Beach in 2000, but he knew he had no chance of winning before a ball had even been struck.
Trey Wingo shared a superb story that Chamblee told him about Woods’ brilliance during the US Open week 25 years ago, when speaking on his Straight Facts Homie Podcast.

Wingo said: “One of the greatest stories I’ve ever heard about Tiger Woods, Brandel Chamblee was playing really well heading into the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach, which Tiger won by 15 strokes.
“Brandel was on the range one day and he had brought a buddy of his from college, and he was feeling really good about his game.
“His buddy comes up behind him and taps him on the shoulder and says, ‘if you don’t look to your left at what’s going on, you’re missing the greatest stripe show I have seen in the history of golf’.
“So he looked over and there was Tiger Woods hitting high draws, low fades, stringers, every shot imaginable on the range.
“Brandel looks at his friend and said, ‘I have no way of winning this tournament’. He knew it in a practice session at the range“!
Tiger Woods’ 2000 PGA Tour season in numbers
There has never been anyone in the history of the game who has enjoyed a season like Woods did in 2000.
Here are his numbers from that sensational year:
| Achievements | Woods’ totals |
| Events played | 20 |
| Wins | 9 |
| Top-10s | 17 |
| Top-25s | 20 |
| Stroke average | 68.17 |
The only player who has even got close to those levels of dominance over the past decade or so is Scottie Scheffler.
However, if Scheffler is to go on and match Woods’ career, he will need to maintain the form he has shown over the last two seasons for at least the next 10 years.
Over the past 25 years, Woods has simply been in a class of his own, and the numbers back that up.
