NFL analyst Danny Parkins believes that the Kansas City Chiefs should trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Brian Thomas Jr.
On Sunday’s episode of “First Things First,” he proposed that adding the Pro Bowl wide receiver could be a good investment for Andy Reid and his team. Parkins also highlighted the uncertain future of Rashee Rice following his recent allegations of domestic violence.
“Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jaguars for the 29th pick that they got in the Trent McDuffie trade,” Parkins said. So you keep the ninth pick for a the pass rusher. Everyone says this is a, best part of this trade is the edge rush class. It is a huge need for the Chiefs. But Mahomes hasn’t had a No.1 receiver since Tyreek Hill.
“You cannot count on Rashee Rice because of injury and off the field issues. Travis Kelce is getting older. Brian Thomas fits the bill.”

Rashee Rice’s ex, Dacoda Jones, filed a $1 million civil lawsuit accusing him of domestic violence. However, his legal team denied all the accusations. But there is a possibility of him receiving a suspension ahead of the 2026 season.
Last season, Rice missed the first six games after the NFL suspended him after being convicted in a 2024 hit-and-run incident. In July, he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felonies. Rice was also sentenced to five years of probation and a 30-day jail sentence while also agreeing to settle lawsuits filed by two crash victims.
The wide receiver recorded 571 yards on 53 receptions and five touchdowns in eight games while the Chiefs failed to qualify for the playoffs. However, his ongoing domestic violence case has raised doubts about continuing to play for Kansas City.
On the other hand, the Jaguars drafted Brian Thomas Jr. with the 23rd pick in 2024. In two seasons, he has recorded 1,989 yards on 135 receptions and 12 touchdowns.

Jaguars GM James Gladstone addresses the Brian Thomas Jr. trade rumors
Despite having two years remaining on his rookie contract, Brian Thomas Jr.’s name has been a part of the recent trade rumors.
However, on Wednesday, Jaguars GM James Gladstone shut down these narratives, stating that they have no intention of parting ways with the wide receiver.
“Jaguars GM James Gladstone said any reports that WR Brian Thomas Jr. was being shopped were ‘fraudulent claims.’ Jags never got an offer from any team for Thomas and Thomas remains a big part of the offense going forward,” ESPN’s Michael DiRocco tweeted.
Last season, Thomas played in 14 games and recorded 707 yards and two touchdowns receiving. The Jaguars qualified for the playoffs, but lost to the Buffalo Bills in a wild-card showdown.
