“You can’t be asking me that question”: Shedeur Sanders hits back at reporter for trying to pin Browns QB against Kevin Stefanski

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders took issue with one reporter over one question that would have put him in a difficult position with head coach Kevin Stefanski. The Browns (3-12) lost to the Buffalo Bills (11-4) on Sunday in Sanders’ fifth NFL start.

With 5:08 left in the fourth quarter, the Browns went for it on fourth-and-2, but Sanders was sacked, giving the ball back to the Bills. They punted in the next drive, which sealed the deal for the AFC North team.

A reporter asked Shedeur Sanders if he thought going for it was a good decision, which sparked a strong response from the former Colorado Buffaloes star.

“I know you can’t be asking me that question, man,” Sanders said. “That’s the thing. If we wanna change, if we wanna change the narrative, change the franchise, if we want to help, we got to speak–Those types of things separate us. A lot of the players get these types of questions and then we want to be working we y’all, we want to proactive, but when you ask questions or questions are asked to us players and it’s like you pin stuff against each other, it’s like, ‘Come on, now.’

“Being in a locker room, we’re not gonna be able to talk to him for real. We’re not gonna be able to give them what they need. Because that separates the team, that don’t help anything in any situation. No matter how you answer.”

Shedeur Sanders went 20 of 28 for 157 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions and two sacks. He added 49 yards on four carries.

The Browns kept it close, but the Bills stepped up when it mattered the most, securing the 11th win of the season, which keeps them in the race for the AFC East title.

Shedeur Sanders suffered bloody injury against Bills

Shedeur Sanders sounded the alarms early against the Buffalo Bills. He suffered a lacerated pinky finger in the second quarter that forced him to exit the field. Sanders went straight to the locker room after covering his right hand with a towel.

Dillon Gabriel replaced the fifth-rounder, who returned to the field after a couple of minutes. Sanders wore a bandage on his pinky for the remainder of the game.

The Browns will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 before taking on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18.
