“You literally can’t find a DVD of their Super Bowl”: NFL analyst urges Jerry Jones to sell the Cowboys amid team’s shocking postseason stat

Jerry Jones is feeling another wave of criticism and backlash from the NFL amid the current state of the Dallas Cowboys.

Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 16 win against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, the Cowboys have officially been eliminated from the playoffs. It marks the second consecutive season that the team won’t be participating in the postseason, elongating its Super Bowl drought.

Missing the playoffs once again has placed the Cowboys’ owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, under intense scrutiny in the NFL world. Fans and analysts have grown tired of the team’s continuous underperformance under his leadership, leading to a lot of criticism and backlash.

In a Wednesday episode of the “Craig Carton Show,” Tyrone Johnson hit out at the Cowboys owner for the team’s performance on the field over the years, questioning why he still owns the franchise.

“Since 2009, I’ve come to find out that every single other team in the NFC, whether it be the Giants that are down right now or anybody else that’s down right now in the NFC, they’ve all made the NFC Championship game,” Johnson said. “All of them, except Dallas. They’re the only ones that haven’t made it.

“And we know that they’ve had 30 years of ineptitude as far as actually winning a Super Bowl, 30 plus years. You literally can’t find a DVD of their Super Bowl because DVDs didn’t exist the last time they won one. You have to keep a VCR.

“That’s the only way to watch their Super Bowls because they don’t re-air them because they’re too old. It wasn’t even a different game … If sports are supposed to be about wins and losses at the end of the day, how’s Jerry Jones still allowed to own the Cowboys.”

Tyrone Johnson believes a new owner wouldn’t perform worse than Jerry Jones

Should the Dallas Cowboys be put on the market, numerous individuals and consortia are expected to show immediate interest. Whoever turns out to be the preferred bidder, Tyrone Johnson doesn’t believe they’ll operate the team worse than Jerry Jones.

“If we’re going to be honest, do you think if the Dallas Cowboys were on sale, that there wouldn’t be a lot of suitors?” Johnson said. “If we’re being honest, wouldn’t those suitors most likely be more competent than Jerry Jones? I’ll say it’s impossible for them to be less competent than Jerry Jones. It would automatically be an improvement.

“If you’re going to tell me that Dallas is America’s team, and that’s what you tell me, even though I deny it, I’m told that constantly. And Dallas does numbers, and you’ve got to talk about the Cowboys. If that’s true, why are the other 31 owners okay with that guy being the most inept owner in all of the league?”

Valued at a staggering $13 billion according to Forbes, the Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable sports team in the world. That’s $2 billion more than any other sports team. Should Jones decide to sell, it’s safe to say he will be up for a huge payday.
