“You need some Viagra”: Michael Irvin unloads frustration on Dak Prescott-led Cowboys after shocking 34-26 loss vs. Vikings

Michael Irvin unloads frustration on Dak Prescott-led Cowboys after shocking 34-26 loss vs. Vikings

In Week 15, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered a 34-26 loss against a struggling Minnesota Vikings. This was their second-straight defeat after a disappointing 44-30 beatdown at the hands of the Detroit Lions.

Retired three-time Super Bowl champion Michael Irvin is visibly not pleased with his former team’s performance in the past two games. On Sunday’s episode of “It Is What It Is” podcast, the ex-Cowboys star expressed his frustration with the losses, which came after back-to-back victories over the Eagles and the Chiefs.

“When you see a team and it beats back-to-back the current champs and the perennial champs, you start seeing glory,” Irvin said (Timestamp-11:11). “That must mean we can one day be the champs. And then you see this team lose to a team that they should have beaten like Minnesota. …And losing those kinds of games, even though you won the games against the Kansas City Chiefs, you won the Philadelphia Eagles game that no one gave you a real chance to win.

“You won those games, but turn around and lose these games. How am I to measure you if that’s the case? You only measure it’s great odds against you, but when it’s not great odds, then you can’t get it up. You need some viagra, Cialis, whatever they got out there for it. I don’t know. You know what I’m saying? That’s my issue. So it has to be a straight pride thing because it’s not a physical thing. And that’s my frustration.”

Against the Vikings, Dak Prescott completed 23 of 38 passes for 294 yards with no touchdowns. The Cowboys found themselves on the scoreboard thanks to touchdowns from RBs Javonte Williams and Malik Davis and four field goals from Brandon Aubrey.

Following this loss, the Cowboys are second in the NFC East behind the Eagles with a 6-7-1 record and a two-game losing streak.

Dak Prescott gets real on the Cowboys playoff chances

Dak Prescott did not beat around the bush while discussing his team’s playoff hopes following Sunday’s loss.

While speaking with the media on Monday, the quarterback shared his honest thoughts on his team’s realistic goals for the remainder of the 2025 season.

“You’re a professional football player. You have to come to work and give your absolute best, regardless,” Prescott said. “Unfortunately, I’m sure the playoffs are out of the picture. But it’s about taking pride in who you are as a man, and not only that and your job and everything that’s gotten you to this point.

“I know for a lot of guys and just the business of the world, that’s interviews for some people. You can’t just give up. You can’t just stop.”

In 14 games, Dak Prescott has recorded 3,931 yards and 26 TDs passing.
