“You’re an a**h*le, clown”: Tom Brady labeled “coward” and “stooge” by Boston radio host after “rooting against” Mike Vrabel’s Patriots

Tom Brady raised plenty of eyebrows this week after admitting that he wasn’t rooting for any team in the upcoming Super Bowl 60. The seven-time Super Bowl champion distanced himself from the Seattle Seahawks and the team he won six of his seven championships with, the New England Patriots.

Brady said he hoped to watch a good game, which didn’t sit well with many people. On Thursday, Marc Bertrand of 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand” went after Brady, calling him a “coward” and a “clown” for his cold take.

“I’ll tell you what is firing me up this week: Tom Brady being a complete coward and saying he doesn’t have a dog in this fight for Sunday night’s game is nonsense,” Bertrand said. “If you’re going to say something as useless as that (that he wants to see a good football game), don’t waste our time. If it is because you’re an owner, then be quiet. If it is because you’re a broadcaster, then just be quiet.”

Bertrand said that everybody who watches the Super Bowl always pulls for one of the teams, even if their favorite isn’t playing. He added that Brady had plenty of reasons to pull for the Patriots

“You’re not rooting for your close friend and former teammate, Mike Vrabel. You’re not rooting for the guy that was at your hip for most of your career, Josh McDaniels. And you’re not rooting for the guy who erected a statue for you outside of Gillette Stadium less than a year ago? Well, then you’re just an a-hole. That’s what you are. You’re a clown. I wouldn’t want you as a friend.

“There’s no risk in him saying, ‘I have a dog in the fight and you know who it is.’ But he’s a coward, and he’s political. Brady’s useless.”

Tom Brady’s former teammate called “BS” on the quarterback not picking a side

Former Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilford didn’t appreciate Tom Brady staying neutral ahead of the Super Bowl. The retired lineman exhorted his former teammate to pick a side.

“That’s bullcrap, Tom,” Wilfork said on Wednesday, via WEEI 93.7 FM. “Come on now. All that political – this ain’t political. It ain’t political what it is. Haters ain’t in it. Say what it is. What you see.”

Brady’s comments upset plenty of people. It remains to be seen if he changes his stance before Sunday’s game.
